Discovery Day Academy has selected architect Matt Joyner to design the independent school’s new campus, located in Bonita Springs. The campus will include a 22,000-square-foot, two-story building.
The design of the campus will optimize the school’s approaches toward learning. The campus will be built with the goal of obtaining LEED certification and will include private “learning studios” serving as classrooms, collaborative areas for project work and various learning vignettes. The anticipated opening of the new campus is August 2015.
A native Floridian, Matt Joyner has been practicing architecture since 1985. He established his firm, C. Matt Joyner, P.A., in 1991 and provides architectural services for new construction, remodeling and renovations, as well volunteer project services within the Southwest Florida community.
Discovery Day Academy was founded in 2006 as an independent school for early learning research. DDA’s children engage in meaningful learning through project work. Children are exposed to the learning process in an environment that fosters deep knowledge, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication, resulting in the ability to transfer knowledge and problem solve. Since the school’s establishment, it has grown to include three campuses in Bonita Springs and Clewiston. For more information, visit www.DiscoveryDayAcademy.com.
