BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (May 19, 2014) – Discovery Day Academy, in Bonita Springs, has joined EdLeader21, a national network of school and district leaders focused on integrating the 4Cs (critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity) into education.

As a member, Discovery Day Academy will have access to established and well-vetted best practices to integrate the 4Cs into education; receive important news, insights, trends, case studies and practical advice about 21st century district initiatives; network with and learn from like-minded education leaders across the country; and work with the nation’s preeminent 21st century education experts.

Founded in 2010, EdLeader21 is composed of top school administrators and teachers from around the country. The organization has been involved in groundbreaking projects that measure student achievement across a range of subjects.

Discovery Day Academy engages its students in meaningful learning through The Discovery Method, a project-based learning model developed by Founder and Head of School Elizabeth Garcia. The Discovery Method focuses on deep learning, authentic experiences and 21st century outcomes. The school also observes a makers philosophy, with a focus on innovation and creativity through DIY materials and technology.

Discovery Day Academy was founded in 2006 as an independent research school and has since grown to include three campuses. A 21st century primary school, inclusive of children preschool through 5th grade, will open in fall 2015. Future growth through 8th grade is planned.
